There are various reasons why we should be cautious in drawing causal conclusions with a correlational design. One reason why we should be cautious is because although there may be a link between two activities there may not be evidence to support that one causes the other (Myers & Hansen, 2012). Another reason we must be cautious of these types of conclusions is because there could be other factors that causes the link between two activities (Myers & Hansen, 2012).
My hypothesis for my study is to find the link between prolonged exposure to stress and physical and mental changes to the body. I think that this can be accomplished by using a survey or questionnaire and polling groups of college students and people whom may be acting as caregivers as both circumstances can be quite stressful. In order to ensure that my hypothesis is well written and logical I will review other studies related to the subject and compare my hypothesis.
